A Guide to the Special Collections Vertical File No. 2008-09
Scope and Content
The Special Collections Vertical File contains booklets, broadsides, brochures, newsletters, newspaper clippings, pamphlets, postcards, reports and other resources that have been gathered through the years about a variety of organizations, people, places and topics relevant to the history and resources of Nevada and the Great Basin Region. The material is arranged alphabetically in folders in the Special Collections and Archives Department's MARS unit. Oversized items are stored with the Special Collections manuscript collection. There is a wide variation in the dates and kind of information and resources available for each topic. Links to online guides for related Special Collections manuscript collections are provided.
Of particular interest are commercially produced broadsides created through the years to support tourism in Nevada and to commemorate historic events. Topics whose folders include broadsides are indicated with a superscripted b.
