The following lectures were delivered as part of one of our Spring semester series of informal conversations with UNR professors hosted by the Knowledge Center.

  • Protest, Memory and Reenactment
    • Joseph DeLappe, Professor of the Department of Art, discusses art and activism as realized in both virtual and real territories. As a media artist he has created a series of protests, interventions, and reenactments within computer games and online communities.

  • The Polaris Project: Rising stars studying climate change in the Arctic and mountain lakes
    • Sudeep Chandra, Associate Professor of Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Science, researches innovative ways to fight invasive species that are threatening Lake Tahoe’s ecology. He is also a principal investigator with the Polaris Project, an international team of scientists studying climate change in the Arctic. He will discuss global warming and lakes, focusing on his interests in Lake Tahoe and arctic lakes.

iTunes U Portal ScreenshotiTunes U is a campus-wide repository and distribution system for educational multimedia content. The University Libraries have a corner of the virtual "Campus Community" from which you may download some of our video and audio files.

Upload them to your iPod or merely to listen at your computer. You can even subscribe and have new content delivered straight to your iTunes when it's uploaded.

In order to access these files through iTunes U, you must have Apple's free iTunes software installed to your computer.
